CUSTOM CHARCUTERIE BOARDS AND KITCHENWARE
Located in Gainesville, VA, Kapers Woodworks is a small, woman-owned business that creates one-of-a-kind kitchenware.
What We Do
Custom woodworking is our passion
From charcuterie boards to whiskey flight boards, we create custom functional designs to fit the decor of a home, office, or event space. We work to personalize a piece so it’s perfect for you. Our custom pieces make great gifts for clients, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and more. Contact us today to get started on your project.
Custom Epoxy inlay charcuterie trays
Our custom epoxy inlay trays are our best seller (who doesn’t love a blue crab?). Each board is created from live edge walnut and customized with a design and epoxy color of your choosing.
Traditional Charcuterie boards
Our charcuterie boards are crafted entirely by hand. No two boards are the same. The seven designs are named, by my son, after himself, his best friends, his cousins, and my best friend’s daughters.
personalized Olive wood boards
Many of us have run across those great little olive wood trays and paddle boards at stores but did you ever think, “wouldn’t it be great if they could have a design or be personalized to give as a special gift?” Let’s make that happen!
Whiskey Glass and Cigar Holders
Made from authentic whiskey barrel staves and rings, our whiskey glass and cigar holders are designed to hold cigars up to be designed to hold a tumbler or glencairn glass.
Whiskey flights
From a standard board design to one created from your vision, our whiskey flights will add a personal touch to any bar. Want to take it up a notch? Let’s add some personalized engraving and etched shot or glencairn glasses!
Coasters
Our coasters are crafted from combinations of beautiful hardwood including walnut and maple.
Why Choose us
CUSTOMIZED DESIGNS
Collaboration is key to designing the perfect piece for your home or as a gift. Working with clients is my favorite part of the process. I love taking a client’s vision and turning it into a beautiful and functional work of art. Let’s see what we can create together!
HANDCRAFTED
Each piece is handcrafted by me, from removing the bark to the final coat of board butter. I am self-taught, learning the basics from YouTube during COVID and, thanks to the help of many amazing woodworkers at Makersmiths in Leesburg, VA and Purcellville, VA., I continue to learn and refine my skills.
WOMAN-OWNED BUSINESS
I am proud to be a part of a community of female woodworkers locally and virtually. My dream is to one day build my own shop and provide classes, especially to women and girls. Woodworking is not a hobby that most women take up and I would like to change that. From simply learning how to hang shelves to designing and creating boards and trays, the sky is the limit. My motto…Power tools are not just toys for boys!
SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES
When purchasing a piece from Kapers Woodworks, you are not only supporting my small business but many others. The locally sourced, naturally and industrially felled lumber used to create each handcrafted piece is purchased from several small, family-owned lumber mills in Warrenton, VA, Timberville, VA, Catharpin, VA, and Charles Town, WV. Whenever possible, board hardware is purchased from Habitat for Humanity Restore, in order to give back to the community.
How it all began
My passion for woodworking started simply enough with the need for desks during COVID. I quickly realized, given my schedule already filled with a full-time job, an active son, and my role as a wife as well as limited space, that building large-scale pieces would not work. I stumbled upon some local walnut and started playing around with ideas for pieces I would use in my own home. After creating a custom seahorse board for my son’s swim team 4th of July raffle (now an annually requested item!), I discovered a creative side I didn’t realize I had.
